Please note minimum deck clearance with compressed head gasket is 0.025" measured at full rock at 12- and 6- o'clock. If heads have been surfaced you may need extra clearance. When measuring the head gasket, the advertised thickness is around the cylinder bores by design as the inner layer is folded over in the embossed area; all other areas will measure thinner. For example, the .032" thick gaskets measure .026" thick in areas that are not embossed.
