Porsche Lite Service for Engines including Updated Piston Oiling - Boxster/Cayman/911 106-9872-89
Porsche The Nickies Lite process is offered for where serious cylinder issues are less prevalent as an economical alternative to conventional block sleeving. The cylinders are over-bored, plated, and honed back to the original nominal bore size, resulting in a hard, low friction wear resistant surface. Direct plating of the bores provides a superior option to steel or iron sleeving that reduce engine cooling and performance by retaining its original all aluminum construction.
Overbores up to +2mm available; dry sleeving and surface grinding of deck extra. Overbore not offered for forced induction applications.
Original press-fit piston oil squirters must be removed to allow machine work and honing. We update all 9A1/MA1 blocks to use user replaceable piston squirters (squirters are included).
If bores are cracked, heavily scored, or excessively ovaled, we cannot offer the Nickies Lite service and Nickies sleeves will be required. There is no warranty against cylinder failures with Nickies Lite as the original cast in cylinder is retained.
