Upgraded GiroDisc Brake Rotors for Porsche 991.2 GT3 RS
The Girodisc system offers a direct replacement iron rotor solution for the OEM PCCB (Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes) disc, requiring no modifications. The disc bolts directly to the car and is fully compatible with OEM calipers and pads.
The central hat section of the rotor is crafted from strictly U.S.-sourced 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc itself is made from Girodisc's proprietary cast iron, poured in the USA and machined entirely in-house. The rotor features a curved vane design, developed in racing to act as a centrifugal pump, effectively forcing cooling air through the disc.
The rotor and hat utilize a floating mount system, incorporating 12 high-strength alloy steel drive pins manufactured by Girodisc in the USA to their own specifications and cadmium plated for long-lasting corrosion resistance. These pins manage the load from braking forces while maintaining axial and radial float between the hat and disc. The pins are secured by class 12.9 cap screws with hardened washers. To prevent cold-weather rotor noise, anti-noise spring washers are used on the rotor side of the pins, allowing for heat expansion while eliminating the rattle and noise typically associated with floating rotors. This float also enables the rotor to self-center between the pads.
Once the Girodisc system is installed, only the cast iron rotor needs to be replaced when necessary.
